सुखदुःखे समे कृत्वा लाभालाभौ जयाजयौ | ततो युद्धाय युज्यस्व नैवं पापमवाप्स्यसि ||२-३८||
sukhaduḥkhe same kṛtvā lābhālābhau jayājayau . tato yuddhāya yujyasva naivaṃ pāpamavāpsyasi ||2-38||
English Meaning
English Meaning
Having made pleasure and pain, gain and loss, victory and defeat the same, engage thou in battle for the sake of battle; thus thou shalt not incur sin.
Hindi Meaning
सुख-दु:ख, लाभ-हानि और जय-पराजय को समान करके युद्ध के लिये तैयार हो जाओ; इस प्रकार तुमको पाप नहीं होगा।।
Russian Meaning
Сделав одно и то же удовольствие и боль, приобретение и потерю, победу и поражение, вступай в битву ради битвы; таким образом ты не навлечешь на себя греха.
Spanish Meaning
Habiendo hecho lo mismo el placer y el dolor, la ganancia y la pérdida, la victoria y la derrota, entabla batalla por el bien de la batalla; así no incurrirás en pecado.
Commentary
This is the Yoga of eanimity or the doctrine of poise in action. If anyone does any action with the above mental attitude or balanced state of mind he will not reap the fruits of his action. Such an action will lead to the purification of his heart and freedom from birth and death. One has to develop such a balanced state of mind through continous struggle and vigilant efforts.
