यद्यदाचरति श्रेष्ठस्तत्तदेवेतरो जनः | स यत्प्रमाणं कुरुते लोकस्तदनुवर्तते ||३-२१||
yadyadācarati śreṣṭhastattadevetaro janaḥ . sa yatpramāṇaṃ kurute lokastadanuvartate ||3-21||
English Meaning
English Meaning
Whatsoever a great man does, that the other men also do; whatever he sets up as the standard, that the world (mankind) follows.
Hindi Meaning
श्रेष्ठ पुरुष जैसा आचरण करता है, अन्य लोग भी वैसा ही अनुकरण करते हैं; वह पुरुष जो कुछ प्रमाण कर देता है, लोग भी उसका अनुसरण करते हैं।।
Russian Meaning
Что делает великий человек, то и другие делают; что бы он ни установил в качестве стандарта, этому следует мир (человечество).
Spanish Meaning
Todo lo que hace un gran hombre, eso también lo hacen los demás hombres; todo lo que él establezca como estándar, eso el mundo (la humanidad) sigue.
Commentary
Man is a social animal. He is an imitating animal too. He takes his ideas of right and wrong from those whom he regards as his moral superior. Whatever a great man follows? the same is considered as an authority by his followers. They try to follow him. They endeavour to walk in his footsteps.
